Eeek I’m behind on my Heart Happy posts so this week’s is coming to you on a Sunday morning! We’ve been super busy working on fall for My Kind of Lovely and it’s been so fun but so much work. Last week we shot our fall photoshoot and Thursday we hosted a fall kickoff party and tailgate which was the perfect way to kick off football season – Go Vols! So we’ve had a lot going on at the shop but today I wanted to share a few glimpses into our photoshoot, a little life update along with a recent inspiring read and some really awesome Labor Day weekend sales.
I’m not complaining but lately my life has been work, sleep, repeat. I’ve been really focused and really disciplined on making sure all the things I’ve dedicated myself to are covered, they’re constantly being worked on, and I’m on top of things. Changing seasons in retail is a lot of work so I’ve got my hands full there, I’m staying on top of blogging and publishing 4-5 posts per week AND it’s back to school time so my twirling team is starting back up and I’ve got 7 girls and 7 twirl moms to keep happy!
I find myself working just as hard through the weekend and taking full advantage of my down time and staying in to relax and rest up to maximize the next day. This is a little out of character for me since I love fun, I love adventure and I hate missing out on things but the reality of this ‘season’ really resonated with me when I read Hallie’s post on How to Live an Inspired Life. I definitely go through seasons in my life and her post really made me feel good about my current season being the focus on work season. It makes me feel empowered and strong about all the great work I’m doing but I also feel at peace knowing that it’s ok so say to no to some things now knowing I’ll more than likely have my season of yes soon! I’m really trying to learn that balance thing everyone talks about. It’s definitely not easy but I do think I’m getting better!
