The Crop Top Diaries

This particular article of clothing has gotten a lot of attention lately so I decided to share my story. First of all, this is definitely something that has to fit with your body type and as someone with a little more of a straight up and down body type I never thought this top would be very flattering on me (and still am not so sure about it). But I decided to try out an inexpensive one and decide for myself. An obvious, easy pairing is a high waisted bottom to just show a little bit of stomach.

Now let me remind you I live in Knoxville, Tennessee. While I do pride myself in not dressing for anyone else and am never really one to shy away from wearing something because it’s out of the “Knoxville norm,” I’ll have to admit, the crop top actually intimidated me a little bit. I mean there aren’t many places you can go around here and not get looks when baring your midriff so I tried to come up with a few alternatives to slightly cover the exposed tummy, at least when it’s daylight outside. 😉 Who else to turn to, other than my trusty chambray!? Such an easy way to ever so slightly cover up!

You can roll the sleeves up and wear it super casual to really minimize the midriff. An easy way to cover up when indoors.

You can also tie it up, such a great way to transition your outfit from day to night! No one will even know there’s a cute crop top in there ready to come out to play!

Then you can do the waist tie for night if you want to add a little something to your outfit. Also a nice way to dress down the look a little if you’re not really headed anywhere too fancy for the night.
