Winter Coats with My Kind of Lovely

I’m back on my local news station this morning talking about all things winter coats (watch my segment here). And since I’ve literally been doing all things My Kind of Lovely lately I thought it was best to share the exact pieces I’ll be sharing on the news from our most recent winter photoshoot! Statement Coat:

Now we all know I love my statement outerwear! I’m not really a black pea coat kinda girl but give me a fun print or a shag material and now we’re talking! You don’t have to go as bold as my leopard coat but something like a more subtle black & grey buffalo check is the perfect piece to add a little something new to your outerwear choices this winter.

Faux Fur Vest:

Faux Fur vests aren’t new to the scene but they are definitely a winter wardrobe staple. They now come in lots of awesome variations from cuts, to fur types, to shapes and sizes there’s literally a vest for everyone! They’re perfect for layering and are super easy to wear with just a simple long sleeve tee underneath.

Layering Coat:

One of my favorite, most worn, coats are lighter weight winter coats that are easy to layer under. I hate the bulky feeling you get when pairing layers under a big winter coat so the trick is (for warmer winter days) layer under a lighter weight winter coat. One of my favorites is a long sleeve with an open button down over it. Or even just for the days when you wear your thick sweaters these coats definitely come in handy.

Poncho:

Ponchos are the best because you’re basically just wearing a blanket wrapped around you in public. What’s better than that in the cold winter months? (Ummm, nothing.) They’re super easy to wear and can be dressed up and worn over a LBD, black tights and heels or even way dressed down over jeans and a tee shirt. I’m kind of thinking ponchos are the next best thing!
