The Everyday Blazer

A basic black blazer can work wonders in your closet and is something that I think every lady should own. It’s classic, it’s versatile and most of all it’s flattering. There are a variety of styles and fits of black blazers out there so you’re sure to find one that perfectly fits into your wardrobe. I’m loving leather accents right now and this Karen Kane blazer totally fit the bill of what I wanted in a blazer. Classic with a little twist. The classic cut of a standard boyfriend blazer (I like the longer length of a boyfriend fit on me) with fun accents like a leather collar and pockets and a rouching sleeve detail (this makes the sleeves 3/4 length and perfect for layering).

For the office: A blazer for the office is a must. It’s the easiest way to instantly add a professional touch to your outfit and it’s my favorite way to dress up more casual pieces, as I’ve done here with my gingham button down. I’m always wearing color so the black blazer is my anchor piece that ties everything together and keeps me from looking a little too colorful.

For Play: A blazer with jeans is the perfect way to dress up those distressed denim jeans. Add some strappy heels and some gold jewelry and you’ve instantly made an outfit that’s perfect for date night or an evening with the girls!

For Everyday: A blazer with dresses is probably my favorite match. I love throwing a blazer over any and all of my dresses to instantly make it work appropriate. (Remember when I did it this summer with my white blazer?) Perfect for those mornings where you hit snooze a few too many times or when you’re just not feeling like trying different outfits on. A blazer with a dress is a no fail look perfect for almost any occasion!
