Lately something has been weighing really heavy on my heart and that is the feeling of materialism. While I do really love nice things and shopping and lusting after the new “it bag” I don’t ever want to feel like I’m a materialistic person. But, as someone who blogs about style and shopping and “things” it’s really easy to get caught up in that shopping, buying, more, more, more cycle.
I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and as I’m undergoing lots of life changes right now I’ve been blown away by the opportunities, chances and people God has placed into my life lately. Enter Sarah McAffry and StateMint Consignment. If you remember I worked with Sarah not too long ago on a Stella & Dot party and when I got an email from her about being one of the founding members of StateMint I could not be more excited to join her on this awesome new venture! I also am quite obsessed with Sarah’s motto: “Style apart from Materialism” because – hello! That’s exactly what I’ve been feeling lately. It is 100% possible to have style apart from materialism and I hope to showcase that here on Pearls & Twirls in the weeks and months to come (more on that later)!
“StateMint Consignment was founded out of the belief that we can have style apart from materialism. We all have pieces in our closets that we loved at the checkout counter but, for one reason or another, they sit in our closet month after month never being worn. StateMint Consignment is a chance for consignors to clean out these unwanted, current styles and for shoppers to find incredible bargains at 30-50% off retail value.”
After officially joining Sarah’s team I immediately did a ma-jor closet clean out and I’m so excited to get rid of all those pieces that I’ve loved but just aren’t at the top of my favorites anymore. We’re talking lots of shoes, jewelry, cute dresses, and everything in between! Just a few things that will be up for grabs at StateMint Consignment…
I loved these BCBG shoes when I bought them but they pinch my toes just a little so they need to go. Hopefully they’ll work perfectly for someone!
For all you hot pink and gingham lovers this adorable Gap dress will be up for grabs!
Target leopard pumps, floral J.Crew skirt and color block Jessica Simpson heels will all be there!
This pretty floral Gianni Binni top (great for UT football games) will also be for sale!
I’m so excited for Sarah and really honored to be a part of this new venture with her! If you’re local and interested in shopping StateMint or signing up to consign with StateMint please check out Sarah’s site and let me know if you have any questions!
TOTALLY on the same page. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of it… But important to make sure you don’t. 🙂 You go girl!

Lady, I love that you are sharing this. I am at a similar place in my style journey. I want to love what is hanging in my closet, but I don’t want to feel as if I am always searching for MORE! I can’t wait to follow along with this new chapter.
