I can’t believe I’m just getting around to sharing my Southern Blog Society Conference recap over here! The weekend was such a fun one and one that I really look forward to every year! (You can read last year’s recap here.) I love spending the weekend with my three #bloggerbesties Julie, Jessica and Shelby and meeting and mingling with lots of other bloggers and brands!
We stayed at the Belmond Charleston Place which was amazing. I’m not sure if there’s a nicer hotel in Charleston so I feel like we’re pretty lucky that the SBS girls (Cathy & Jessica) have really good taste and got us an awesome deal on the room rate for the event!
SBSCon Play By Play:
The weekend kicked off with a welcome party hosted by Swoozies which was the perfect way to hug old friends and meet new ones….over cocktails! It went by way too fast but after a day of traveling we were ready to grab some dinner and head home for an early bedtime.
Saturday morning started with breakfast at the hotel and a short walk across the street to the Rivera Theater for the conference. This year’s conference was one of the best blogging conferences I’ve attended. Seriously. I’ve been to LuckyFABB and IFB and by far this year’s SBSCon was definitely the conference I’ve taken the most away from (and no, I don’t mean swag, although that was good too). They had fab speakers that weren’t only interesting and educational but they covered topics that were a little more out of the box which I loved. If you’re a blogger who’s been blogging for a while you’ll definitely appreciate the lack of “find your voice” and “grow organically” that came out of these speaker’s mouths. I left inspired and really looking forward to going back through my notes when I got home which was a really great feeling.
After the conference they had a networking suite all set up and ready for us. There was a diverse selection of great brands to chat with along with light bites and mimosas which made for the perfect atmosphere for some blogging magic to happen! I was really excited to talk to all of the brands in the room and I can’t wait to share more about some of the brands I’ll working with in the future! Stay tuned!
This year was a little different for me because I went as a blogger AND as a brand! My Kind of Lovely is super excited to be launching a fun blogger partnership and I’m so excited that we got to kick it off at my favorite blogger conference!
We gave away these Totes Adorbs tote bags that were totes a hit with all the bloggers!
My favorite girls in the My Kind of Lovely booth! Seriously, if you’re not following these girls, go follow now!
After we made our way back to the hotel room we kicked the shoes off, went through our swag and headed back out to take outfit photos before we changed for dinner. (Peep my conference outfit here) Cathy and Jess, along with Vera Bradley, Lilly Pulitzer and Dermalogica hosted an amazing dinner at Edmond’s Oast for the top referring SBS Members and I was beyond honored to be included! (Everyone keep joining!) Edmond’s Oast was super cute, delicious and the most perfect way to end a wonderful day!
I have lots of blog friends who have been a little bummed that Southern Blog Society is only for southern bloggers but if you’re not a southern blogger and want to be a part of all this fun I’ve got fab news for you! SBS is going national! Hop on over here, find your region and go ahead and apply! And hopefully I’ll see you at next year’s event!
After all the fun events wrapped up I was so glad we were all able to stay one more day in Charleston to do a little exploring. We added Josh from The Kentucky Gent to our blogger bestie crew and my bestie (the other half of My Kind of Lovely) and her husband for a day and a half of Charleston adventuring!
