You guys, I’m super excited about this new series I’ve dreamed up!
I’ve really been thinking more and more about blogging, why I do it, what I love about it and what I hate about it. Lately I’ve been less than inspired because I feel like all I see from other bloggers is buy this, buy that, shop, shop, shop! And that’s not how it was when I got started and that’s definitely not why I started blogging. I started because I LOVE putting together outfits. I love remixing my closet and finding new ways to wear things. Some of my favorite outfits are when I discover I can wear a dress as a skirt with a tee shirt tied up over it. I love mixing and matching my closet, I love trying out new trends and most of all I love doing all that at an affordable price!
This new series is something that will incorporate all those things I loved about blogging when I started. I’m going to feature one item every month and style it a different way each week! Essentially over the month it will be one piece styled 4 or 5 different ways! So fun right? And I’m going to try to do this as organically as I can. While it’s super easy to style 4 outfits and run out and take photos in them and call it day, I’m going to truly try to wear this piece once a week and shoot it as I wear it. I want them to be real outfits, that I really wore! It will be a challenge for me but I think it will be such a fun thing to share here.
However, that whole I want to shoot them organically thing has already bitten me in the butt! The series was supposed to launch on Friday! Eeek! So I’m just a few days late on getting this going, but I know it’s only going to go up from here! ha! This week you’ll be getting two repeat offender looks, one today & another on Friday, and hopefully from there it will be a much smoother series.
Now, on to the real business of this post. The outfit. I’m super excited to kick off the first Repeat Offender series with this adorable white bell sleeve top from Free People. It’s less than $100 (which isn’t the norm for Free People) and at $88 I feel like it’s still a little pricy, but the amount of wear and how much you’ll be able to transform this piece, I think it’s totally worth the price tag! It’s a great year around staple as it’s easy to tuck into skirts and even wear with cutoffs for summer. But will be absolutely gorgeous with everything for fall.
For our first outfit of the series I paired the white bell sleeve top & denim skirt together for a great early fall transition outfit and just added some strappy fall colored heels and a neutral crossbody bag. This is definitely one of those easy go-to outfits too. It’s dressy enough to be dressed up, but still casual enough for most places. It’s also an easily re-creatable look too. If you don’t have these exact items in your closet, I’m sure you can round up a high waisted skirt, heels and a bag right?! It’s super easy, and a great fall outfit!
