Wahoo! This weekend Caroline & I celebrated the big 2 year mark since our first debut of My Kind of Lovely! If you haven’t been following for a long time, you may not know that I also co-own My Kind of Lovely, a women’s boutique in Tennessee. And if you’ve been following forever you know the whole story! Caroline & I have worked so hard over the past two years to mold what started as a little side business venture into what it is today and we love being able to celebrate those moments with our customers!
We celebrated this weekend at a new and improved My Kind of Lovely! We spent the entire week last week transforming the place with new paint, wallpaper, carpet and a new, official front shop door that we were super excited to show off to our customers. Of course they loved the new features but everyone was a little more pumped about the new arrivals, the new brands and the super awesome swag bags! We had such a fabulous day that I couldn’t help but share a little birthday love here on the blog. Also because today, March 15, is our actual My Kind of Lovely birthday! This day two years ago, we were debuting our name and hosting Madisonville’s First Trunk show.
We transformed a friend’s barn into a cute little shop with dressing rooms and lots of shopping space. It’s always fun to look back on those moments!
{See our first Trunk Show blog post here and our 1st Birthday celebration blog post here. And I also did a Heart Happy on our First Birthday post about following your dreams that totally made my day reading!}
We made the My Kind of Lovely second birthday all about best friends since we’re a best friends in business story and even did a quick little best friends photoshoot during our spring photoshoot with our girls. We tend to take thousands of pictures of our models and rarely get any good ones of the two of us. So here’s a few from our little shoot and stay tuned for more birthday party pics later on this week.
Looking back on this blog post from last year I still love this Nelson Mandela quote I posted, “There is no passion to be found playing small – settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” It’s crazy to look back on the past two years and see how far we’ve come and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next 2, 5 and 10 years for My Kind of Lovely! Thank you to everyone who reads Pearls & Twirls and who shops My Kind of Lovely! You seriously make my life. xoxo!
Congrats ladies! Always so good to see friends pursuing their passions <3
Thanks Josh! xo!
