Lovely Lately

I’m so sorry my posting has been less than consistent lately! Even at super busy times I can usually at least get 1 or 2 blog posts up but lately it’s been hard to do even that. Truth is, after almost 5 years of blogging (5 years is the 22nd!) it starts to get hard. It starts to feel stagnant and it actually becomes overwhelming again. Weird how that happens!

It’s also hard to stay focused and motivated when so many other things are also happening so I’ve been a little overwhelmed. I still love blogging and the little community I’ve built here and I definitely have no intentions of not doing this anymore, but I’ve been thinking a lot about Pearls & Twirls and how it needs to evolve as I evolve. I’m no where close to the person I was 5 years ago so why should I feel like my blog should stay the same? I’m thinking that little voice in the back of my head that’s telling me I need to continue what I’ve started because it’s the brand I’ve built needs to take a back seat. But it’s been hard to decide to change something that I’ve continued to build for 5 years, “if it ain’t broke,” ya know?

I’m thinking it’s time to face the facts and you guys may love the new stuff! I’m really thinking of incorporating a lot more lifestyle content over here and while it still feels overwhelming, I think it’s a lot more “me” these days. The style stuff will still definitely happen, I’m just not sure it should be my main focus anymore. So I’m working on bringing in some more beauty posts, travel posts, entertaining posts and just some more My Kind of Lovely updates, life updates, and more! {This was one of my most popular posts of all time and I would love to do more like these!}

As My Kind of Lovely continues to grow, it’s only going to continue to take more and more of my time so I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t share more MKL over here! We’re trying to do more regular, smaller photoshoots, as opposed to only doing one big one each season, so instead of enlisting my mom once a month or every 3 weeks Caroline & I have decided to do the photoshoots ourselves, so I’m pretty dang proud of all these photos! We styled, posed, propped (how cute are the pineapples?!) and I shot our last two mini photoshoots! I’m still quite the photography beginner so these were a little intimidating but I think we did a great job for our first two shoots!

Both of these are all Show Me Your Mumu but we’ll be doing these shoots for more than just Mumu going forward.
