Kayaking the Caney

kayaking the caney fork river

This 4th of July weekend we went kayaking the Caney Fork River with Jared’s family and had the best time! Their whole family always kayaks on the 4th of July which I think is such a fun family tradition. We kayaked a 6 mile stretch of the river. We packed a lunch and stopped for a little break and swimming halfway down and finished just as a big storm cloud rolled it. It was such a fun day on the river!

I of course don’t have any kind of phone water protection so my phone stayed behind (no snapchats….womp womp) but we did have the gopro and had some fun with it! I held off on posting this for so long because I really had high hopes of putting together one of those really kewl gopro videos but had no such luck. I’ve decided you have to have a TON of video footage so mine would have been about 10 seconds. Ha!

So no video, but we did at least get a few cute pictures from the day! Jared actually got me the go pro for my birthday and I love it! But I always have a hard time of managing everything. Do I take pictures on the phone, on the real camera, on the go pro, on the instax camera? There are so many options! So it was nice to only have the gopro while kayaking so that’s what we used. I do want to get better at it though. I’m going to try and remember to take it along on photoshoots and on trips because I’m pretty obsessed with what some people can do with these! One of our sweet MKL Models, Hannah, has an awesome one from her wedding in Kauai. Serious goals on that one! So if you have any gopro tips or tricks send em my way!
