July Intention: Consistency

how to stay consistent

Consistency has been something that keeps coming up for me. As someone who juggles a lot of different things, it’s been really hard for me to keep my consistency up across the board. I know I need to be consistent in posting on the blog, posting on instagram, new arrivals at My Kind of Lovely, posting and emailing for My Kind of Lovely, working out, eating good, I literally could go on and on. But HOW do you stay consistent? Especially when life is so inconsistent? This is the golden question. Ha!

Even though I know I need to work on my consistency I’ve just come to terms with the fact that I’m doing my best. I don’t know how I’ll ever change. I don’t know how to juggle it all. But it just keeps coming up.

I hear it in trainings, I hear it on podcasts, it’s the one thing that keeps coming up time and time again.

Consistency, consistency, consistency.

So I’ve really been thinking about it a lot lately and working on my consistency practice. Because MAYBE if I work on it as a whole, I can be more consistent in lots of different areas. Not just one or two.

That’s where it all changed for me.

You don’t have a list of 10 things you want to be consistent with. You stay consistent with one thing, your planning.

If you can stay consistent with your planning, everything else can stay consistent too. I’m not the best planner so I struggle with this. But I’ve found if I take a little time out of each week to plan things out. The consistency falls into place. If you can plan out your meals for the week, It’s super easy to stay consistent with your healthy eating. If you plan out your work days, it’s much easier to make sure certain things get done. Instead of tossing everything on a never ending to-do list take some time each week to make a plan in a few different areas of your life and stick to it.

It’s all in the planning people! So let’s get consistent this month! I’ve been working on this over the past few days and I’m feeling good. Of course when life gets busy again, it’ll get harder, but I’m excited about my planning and practicing my consistency. What helps you guys stay consistent?! I’d LOVE to hear!
