Hair Tutorial: How to Achieve the Perfect Heatless Waves Overnight with Monat Products

This is literally my favorite quarantine skill I’ve acquired! The perfect overnight heatless waves. I’ve practiced and practiced these and this is literally my go-to technique along with all the prep & style products I use for before & after. I want y’all to be able to experience the ease of this hairstyle too!

5 Steps to Overnight Heatless Waves:

Step 1: Wash & fully dry hair. I do my curls with totally dry hair! Grab a bathrobe waist tie.

Step 2: Prep hair. I use the Monat flexible hold gel. It’s super lightweight and flexible, you can’t tell there’s even gel in your hair, but my curls hold for days when I use this as opposed to the times I don’t use.

Step 3: Curl! Set the bathrobe tie on top of your head and start wrapping your hair around facing away from your face. Start with a section at the top and work your way down adding sections to your original section. My hair is really thick so when I get to my ears I start grabbing hair from the back side of my head and start wrapping it the opposite way. That way you have two sections that you’re adding to while wrapping (similar to braiding.)

Step 4: Go to sleep! Sleep with your hair wrapped up like this and remove first thing in the morning.

Step 5: Style however you’d like! I love a good big hair moment so I typically do a lot of dry texture spray to give it texture and volume! and top it off with some hairspray! (my go-to hairspray is the Monat flexible hold spray – lightweight but with mega hold!) It’s literally the easiest, low maintenance, no heat hairstyle!
