Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! I’m so excited to share something a little different today for Earth Day!

As I’ve mentioned over here before, I’m all about giving back these days. I know Pearls & Twirls can come off as just a website that’s all about shopping and materialistic things, but in reality the freedom of expressing yourself through clothing, fashion, and style is what I genuinely love. While my outlook on blogging is great, the excessive shopping, spending and keeping up with the Kardashians lifestyle that is currently surrounding fashion and style blogs isn’t. That part definitely isn’t what I love. What I do love is putting together an outfit that’s different, that’s unique, that’s me and sharing it with you guys. And I like to think that my non-pushy, omg-you-have-to-buy-this-now attitude is what keeps you guys coming back, and for that I’m so thankful. You guys are the bomb!

Anyway, what I’m getting at here is, I’m always excited to help someone out. Anytime I can share about something that gives back, something that could potentially help someone further than how to dress I’m all about finding a way to incorporate it into the blog. I love when people share my story and love to help others share their story as well! I love supporting brands that give back, people who are following their dreams and basically anything that can improve my, yours and anyone else’s quality of life.

So today I’ve partnered up with the EcoCAR3 team to share a little bit about this 4 year project these college kids are working on. I couldn’t be more impressed by it and when the communications girls asked me to help promote it I couldn’t say no!

EcoCAR3 is a 4 year competition where college kids totally transform a Chevrolet Camaro into a high performing hybrid vehicle. Now that’s pretty dang impressive if you ask me!

They wanted to team up with some local bloggers for Earth Day to promote going green and the support of hybrid vehicles. I was more than thrilled to help out with their Earth Day efforts and was so happy to be able to support the EcoCAR3 team and can’t wait to see how awesome they do in the competition! And on another note, I couldn’t think of any other way to celebrate Earth Day than in my favorite Birks, an embroidered dress, a denim jacket and a cheeky market tote filled with tulips! Happy Earth Day loves!
