Easter is on the way and whether you’ve got your Easter outfit already picked out or not, I want to challenge you to find other fun ways to wear your Easter dress this spring! I always LOVE my Easter dress. It’s usually your first pretty, new dress of the spring and summer season, you’re ready for spring colors and pastels (which I always feel the best in!) and it’s just a fun day to get dressed up!
We got this adorable lavender tiered dress at My Kind of Lovely and I immediately thought it would be such a fun piece for spring and summer! Its perfect for Easter and weddings and bridal or baby showers, but once I got it on I kept thinking of other fun pieces to pair with it! I love it dressed up, but I also think it’s so fun dressed down with boots, a denim jacket and super fun accessories! I love it so much I wanted to share a few different ideas of how to dress dress down your Easter dress!
How To Dress Up & Dress Down Your Easter Dress
Dress it Up:
The dressing it up part is pretty easy. Let the dress do the talking. Style it with pretty, classy, timeless jewelry like gold or silver jewelry and a pretty, neutral heel. You can do gold or silver earrings and then whatever spring heels you’re loving right now. I love these raffia heels, because they go with everything and dressy enough to dress up! If you want to dress it up for date night or maybe on vacation add some color! Add a pop of bright pink with some statement earrings and a statement heel! I think this purple dress would be so cute styled in a color blocked way! Add in a bright pink heel and a bright yellow earring for a really fun, summer look!
Dress it Down:
Accessories are key here! Find all your fun accessories that can compliment a pretty dress! Whether that’s cool jewelry, your favorite new headband or or fun shoes, just take a look at what you have and see what works! I pulled out my pearl denim jacket because it’s a super fun piece and how cute does it compliment this pretty purple dress?! Ya’ll know I’m always looking for ways to add in some pink so I added a pink bag and my pink sunglasses. And then one of my favorite ways to add a little edge or cool girl vibes to an outfit is add in some booties. I think these white booties are so fun for spring and summer and they’re perfect for dresses, cutoffs and all the boho things that I know I’ll be wanting to wear this spring!
Regardless of what you have in your closet, just have fun with it!
Tips for Dressing Down a Nice Dress
- Try Layering: Tie up a tee shirt over, put a tee shirt under, throw on a jacket or tie one up around your waist. All these things have a dressed down feel to them and can totally work with a lot of dressier dresses.
- Play with Accessories: Bring out all your fun accessories and have fun with them! Pair unexpected earrings with your dress, style it with your most fun bag, and try out shoes you wouldn’t normally wear with that dress!
- Style it With Boots: Boots and booties are a fun way to add a little edge to a girly dress! I love styling booties with my more girly and feminine pieces to give them a little more of a boho look.
