I’m not really sure if it’s my upcoming NYC trip or my excitement for fall but lately I’ve been straying from my trusty colorful outfits and choosing more blacks and muted colors. I can definitely say that my two colors of the season are going to be oxblood and a military/hunter green. Either of these paired with basics like white, gold and black are perfect for fall. And yes, you can still wear white after labor day! Now can we just get it to cool off?

This ASOS dress has been a go-to all summer long! I’ve worn it to the pool as a cover up and I’ve even worn it to work with a white blazer. It’s one of those dresses that you can just pull out of the closet any day of the week (so great to have those!). This time I decided to throw on some summer layers for a fun weekend look.
I wore this fun combo to the Old Crow Medicine Show concert Friday night and it was the perfect combo for a night of banjo music and dancing. I will say that I would have never originally paired this maxi with this gingham shirt but thanks to a messy room they ended up next to each other and the rest was history.
P.S. After a nice closet clean out I’ve listed a few more things on Poshmark. Check out my closet! Not a member? Sign up with code HPZZA and get a $5 credit!
I’m always finding inspiration from all across the web but this particular outfit (well purchase) was inspired by one of my best friends, Alex. She wore the cutest crop top paired with a peplum skirt for our friend’s bachelorette party and I was so in love with her outfit! With the crazy summer sales ASOS has been having I decided to take the plunge and try out this fun trend before the summer season wraps up!
J.Crew chambray top, J.Crew Factory skirt, Lucky Brand wedges, Forever 21 flower necklace and gifted ombre necklace (BaubleBar has a similar one and a friendship duo), Elizabeth and James sunglasses via Rue La La, Michael Kors watch, JTV giraffe bracelet and J.Crew link bracelet
I usually try to steer clear of “boring outfits” ya know the ones that are kind of like this one. But my way of making old things feel new, boring things no-so-boring and my trusty outfit staples feel fresh? It’s all in the details. Layer a few necklaces and coordinating bracelets and some funky shoes and you’re ready to go. I always look for an element of surprise in my outfits and while the skirt and shirt are still cute together, the browns, pinks and little bit of turquoise brought this outfit out of it’s shell. It’s all in the details ladies. :) Happy Wednesday!
**Also, I’m selling the shoes I’m wearing in this post on Poshmark! If you haven’t checked out Poshmark it’s an iPhone app that’s super easy to buy and sell clothes and accessories. Check out my closet!
